POPROT / ANIME / 2112-NEN DORAEMON TANJOU / CHARACTERS

Spoiler note: This guide discusses Nobita Nobi’s role in Doraemon’s origin movie and may mention the reason Doraemon becomes the blue, earless robot cat familiar from the main series.

Who is Nobita Nobi?

Nobita Nobi is the boy Doraemon eventually travels back to help in 2112-nen Doraemon Tanjou. PopRot covers the character through the movie’s main idea: Doraemon is not introduced as perfect future technology, but as someone whose flaws, accidents, and attachments make him more human.

Personality and role in the story

Nobita Nobi comes across as kind, anxious, clumsy, imaginative, and often overwhelmed by ordinary life. Their role matters because the movie condenses a lot of franchise mythology into a short origin story, so every major character either explains where Doraemon comes from or why he chooses Nobita.

Abilities, powers, and strengths

Their notable strengths include empathy, persistence, and the ability to inspire Doraemon’s long-term protective loyalty. In this story, those strengths are not treated like battle powers; they are tools for family, rescue, time travel, and emotional repair.

Story relevance

Nobita appears as the future destination of Doraemon’s choice, making the origin movie a bridge between Doraemon’s personal loss and the classic series premise.
