Spoiler note: This explainer references the anime’s central power categories and Moroha’s dual identity.
Powers and Abilities in World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman
World Break’s power system starts from awakened past-life memories. Students known as Saviors train at Akane Academy and fight supernatural enemies called Metaphysicals.
Shirogane
Shirogane are weapon-focused Saviors who use Puraana to strengthen the body, draw on martial memory, and fight at close range. Satsuki’s training and Moroha’s sword side sit here.
Kuroma
Kuroma use Maana to cast magic that exceeds normal physics. Shizuno’s Netherworld Sorceress identity and Moroha’s spellcasting side show why Kuroma knowledge changes the battlefield.
Moroha’s Dual Past Lives
Moroha is unusual because he has both Shirogane and Kuroma memories. That lets the anime use him as a bridge between Holy Sword combat, dark magic, and the title’s “two lives” idea.
Metaphysicals
Metaphysicals are the external monsters that justify Savior training. They turn school exercises into emergency defense situations and pressure the Strikers to cooperate.
