Unkei character guide
Unkei is a supporting figure in s-CRY-ed, a Sunrise action series built around Alter users, Lost Ground survival, and HOLY’s campaign to control native ability users.
Who they are
Unkei is a member of HOLY, and is also the tallest member. His Alter is called Mad Sprict. Mad Sprict takes the form of a small billboard with multiple extensions with ball-point pens on the tip. Mad Sprict projects illusions and brainwashes the victim into acting out whatever Unkei has written using Mad Script. They are forced to follow Unkei’s (self proclaimed) perfect script, and those the victim interacts with who are not under Mad Script’s influence must follow the script in order to maintain the illusion. Individuals with very strong mental prowess can break free of Unkei’s illusions or enter/exit it without being written into the script.
Role in the story
Unkei matters because the series frames power through personal loyalty: Kazuma’s street-level independence, Ryuho’s institutional duty, Kanami and Mimori’s human stakes, and HOLY’s pressure all collide as the Lost Ground conflict escalates.
