The finale begins with the rebels seizing Berlin’s broadcast tower so Katia can reveal her identity and call the people against the Stasi. The 666th and rebel pilots fight Werewolf units over the city as the BETA breach draws closer. Beatrix kills comrades in the chaos, Axmann tries to turn Irisdina into political leverage, and Anett gives Irisdina the chance to stop him.

What happens in this episode

Theodor defeats Beatrix, West German forces arrive in time to keep Berlin from being overrun, and Katia’s message helps push the country toward a different future. The victory is bittersweet: Irisdina dies after asking Theodor to show her the sunrise over the city. The closing images of the Wall coming down and Katia traveling west with Theodor make the ending less about a clean win than about the cost of making hope possible.
