Western governments consider accepting the Stasi regime if it keeps the BETA line intact, which leaves the rebels racing to prove they can win. Circe moves east looking for proof, while Lise attacks a leaked rebel meeting location. Theodor turns that attack into a trap and mortally wounds her in battle.

What happens in this episode

The episode’s emotional center is Theodor and Lise’s final exchange. Lise cannot understand why he chooses a rebellion she sees as doomed, while Theodor recognizes both her damage and the pain he failed to prevent.
