AIDA is one of the core threat concepts around .hack//G.U., but Returner uses an AIDA Chim Chim in a softer, more symbolic way. Instead of acting only as corruption to destroy, this anomaly asks for peaceful coexistence with the players of The World.
Why the Chim Chim form matters
Chim Chims are familiar, small creatures in the G.U. game world, so placing AIDA in that shape changes the emotional temperature. It makes the anomaly approachable and lets the OVA ask whether the aftermath of AIDA can include understanding rather than only fear.
Avatar/Epitaph context
