Summary
Ovan sends a message asking familiar players to gather at Δ Hidden Forbidden Festival, a summer-festival area inside The World. The event becomes more than a casual party when the cast encounters an AIDA Chim Chim that does not behave like a standard threat. Instead, it wants peaceful coexistence with the players. When it transforms into the word “Returner,” Haseo reads the moment as a sign that Ovan may come back to The World.
What happens in the episode
The OVA opens from the premise of a reunion: Ovan’s email draws characters from the G.U. games and .hack//Roots into the same festival space. That setting changes the usual mood of The World. Instead of a dungeon crawl or an investigation-first crisis, the area feels celebratory, packed with returning players, cameos, and callbacks.
The strange center of the episode is the AIDA Chim Chim. AIDA usually signals corruption, danger, and the unresolved wounds of the G.U. story, but this version asks for a different relationship.
