Tooru Ichii in A Channel
Spoiler note: This guide discusses broad character role and school-life dynamics without late-series over-explanation.
Who They Are
A short first year student who often has overly long sleeves. She is very protective of Run and will punish anyone who tries to make a move on her. She also frequently accosts Run's classmate, Yuuko, because of a misunderstanding on the day they met.
Role in the Story
Database role listing: MAIN. In PopRot terms, Tooru Ichii matters because the series is built from character chemistry: who worries, who teases, who gets embarrassed, and who pulls the group back into its familiar everyday rhythm.
Personality and Abilities
protective, blunt, and deeply attached to Run; her tiny frame contrasts with a forceful presence when friends are involved. Their “abilities” are slice-of-life abilities rather than battle powers: timing a reaction, setting off a joke, softening a tense moment, or giving the group a recognizable emotional shape.
Story Relevance
Tooru Ichii keeps the low-stakes format from feeling empty. The school setting works because the cast turns lunch breaks, hallway scenes, studying, shopping, and seasonal events into character moments.
