Data Drain is the game-side action associated with the collapse incidents. In the OVA’s real-world framing, the danger is measured in hospital beds and missing consciousness rather than hit points.

Liminality ties the issue back to Harald Hoerwick’s work, Fragment, and the larger system designed around the Ultimate AI. The story’s “power system” is therefore less about spells and more about programs, emergent behavior, and a network fighting its own purpose.
