Summary
Ovan sends a message asking connected players to meet at Δ Hidden Forbidden Festival, a special area styled like a summer festival inside The World R:2. Haseo, Atoli, Shino, Tabby, Sakisaka, Silabus, Gaspard, Kuhn, Yata, Pi, Endrance, Sakubo, and other familiar faces are drawn into a strange reunion where the usual suspicion around AIDA is challenged by a small Chim Chim-like anomaly that appears to want peace.
What happens in the episode?
The episode opens from the premise that Ovan has reached out again. That alone changes the mood: for characters who have spent so much time chasing missing people, system mysteries, and unresolved trauma, an invitation from Ovan is not casual mail. The gathering point, Hidden Forbidden Festival, gives the OVA a deliberately softer atmosphere. Instead of a dungeon crawl or PK hunt, the players move through lantern-lit festival spaces, a lake, wooded paths, and a hill overlooking the celebration.
The central anomaly is an AIDA Chim Chim. Because AIDA were previously associated with infection, danger, and unpredictable system behavior, the group has every reason to be wary. Atoli’s interaction with it shifts the emotional direction of the episode. The creature is not framed as another monster to eliminate; it becomes a symbol that even something born from the AIDA problem may be able to coexist with the players of The World.
When the anomaly transforms into the word “Returner,” Haseo takes it as a sign pointing back to Ovan. The episode’s final emotional beat confirms that Returner is not trying to launch a new conflict; it is closing a circle. Ovan reunites with Aina, and the OVA leaves the audience with a quieter sense of restoration after the heavier events that surround G.U.
