Harry McQuinn’s ability is frightening because it is uncontrolled. Kitsu and AniList both identify the central premise as a nervous, isolated teenager suddenly demonstrating psychic powers. PopRot reads those powers as horror mechanics rather than superhero mechanics: the ability does not make Harry confident, famous, or safe. It makes him more visible to people who already distrust him.

What Harry can do

  • Psychic force: the series presents his power as physical pressure or telekinetic impact.
  • Emotional triggering: fear, panic, and threat are crucial because Harry does not begin with calm control.
  • Unwanted attention: once the power is believed, outside forces want to understand or use it.

Power-system note

Sci-fi Harry is intentionally less rules-heavy than battle anime. The important question is not “what is the move called?” but “what happens to a vulnerable person when fear can become force?”
